Donovan, Elise

Dr. Elise Donovan, the coordinator of Developmental English, had to oversee the dozens of Cranford-based developmental-writing courses that were homeless as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Classes that did not have an established online ANGEL shell needed to move to the Elizabeth Campus. Dr. Donovan worked throughout the weekend of Nov. 2 - 4 with Recruitment’s Beatriz Rodriguez and Elizabeth Provost Dr. Barbara Gaba to identify classrooms. She then contacted the English faculty to prepare for the Mon., Nov. 5 resumption of these classes either in the Kellogg building or online. Because Nov. 5 was also the first day of Spring registration, Dr. Donovan made sure that all of the developmental-writing classes included the professor’s name. Dr. Donovan praised her fellow employees for their teamwork: "It was everyone pitching in, many people doing work outside of their normal jobs. Certainly it was stressful, but I was glad we did it."
