Facilities Project Coordinator Cathleen Haines began her Union County College career in 2009 on the grounds crew for the Cranford Campus. Facilities Director Henry Key soon discovered Ms. Haines’ talents not only as a skilled practitioner in Computer Aided Drawing but also as an experienced environmental and architectural designer. Two of the most prominent examples of her work were her contributions toward improving the look and functionality of the cafeteria and the MacKay Library. "I believe in the power of beautiful spaces," she says. "I love the thought of creating a haven for the students who come here. I adore the little interactions I have with students. Their energy is contagious." She appreciates the camaraderie among the Facilities staff as they work hard to make the College better for students and staff. "I bring joy to this job every day - rejoicing in students as well as my co-workers. All of us in Facilities Department are working as a team and all of us care about how we can make a difference in others’ lives."
