Dr. Sam Zhang is Senior Professor of Mathematics and for 20 years has been a favorite among students. Dr. Zhang says that there is no big secret to his success with students. "What I love about working here is that I have the opportunity to help students learn math. There is no better profession to have," he says. One of Dr. Zhang’s other passions is to share teaching strategies with the part-time math faculty. As the coordinator of adjuncts, he assists Department Chair Dr. Cynthia Roemer in overseeing more than 60 of these instructors. Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics and master’s in Statistics from the University of Iowa. He also has a master’s degree in Mathematics that he received while in China.
