Freeholders Granados and Wright Congratulate Graduates of the College for Teens Program at Union County College.

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

This summer, the Office of Continuing Education at Union County College offered the 2014 College for Teens program, which was sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

On July 31, 2014, a completion ceremony was held at the College’s Cranford campus to celebrate the more than 70 students who participated in the program from July 21 to 31. Union County Freeholders Sergio Granados and Vernell Wright congratulated the students and assisted with awarding of their completion certificates.
Students who participated in the program were given the opportunity to explore and research careers in financial markets, criminal justice, or healthcare, all while experiencing life on a college campus. The students also learned about relevant career opportunities in these fields and participated in hands-on activities.
To be eligible to participate in the program, students had to be enrolled in a Union County school by September 2014 and have a grade point average of C or better. They also had to submit a recent grade report and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor.
