Sign Up for Summer Classes for Youth Ages 7-18

SIGN UP FOR SUMMER CLASSES FOR YOUTH AGES 7-18
This summer Union County College is expanding its educational and enrichment course offerings for youth ages 11-18 and summer sports camps for kids ages 7-17. Both educational and sports programs will be offered and a wide variety of classes run all summer long on the Cranford campus. Many classes are taught by NJ-certified teachers and local businesses that specialize in delivering high-quality youth programs.
A sample of educational classes for youth ages 11-13 include Watercolor, World of Origami and Paper Crafts, Guitar, Writing Rollercoaster, App Creation, Minecraft on the Move, DaVinci’s Workshop for Young Iventors, Chess Club, Graffiti Art Design Projects, and Like Old Times. The college also partners with Mad Science and Black Rocket to offer classes such as Crazy Chemworks, Secret Agent Lab, LEGO Films, Make Your First Video Game, and more.
Sample classes for students ages 14 include SAT Test Prep, Algebra Review, Write for College, Teen Finance Workshops, Shakespeare to Batman, Cartooning, The Artist Within, App Creation, Games Gone Wild, Dante’s Inferno, Virtual Worlds and Future Cities, and Video Game Animation.
An innovative new program, College Math Preparation, will also be offered to help students prepare for the Accuplacer exam and prepare for college level math.  This program is offered with Knewton and students spend time working online independently as well as in person with math instructors.
New summer sports camps will be offered for lacrosse, baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball. Union County College sports coaches and players will run in this program and sports camps will take place on the college fields or indoor court.
