Dear Students and Employees:
My prayers have been with you and your family throughout what has been a devastating tragedy for thousands of people.
Union County College has been relatively fortunate. Our employees are working hard to restore full services.
As of today, we have electrical power in both buildings on the Elizabeth Campus. The Plainfield and Cranford campuses are still without power. The Springfield Avenue entrance to Cranford is inaccessible.
We have postponed the Foundation Gala until further notice. All other activities and events are cancelled.
We are engaged in a disaster-recovery plan. Our initial hope is to restore at least one computer lab at each campus, thereby enabling faculty and students to have access to course materials.
To that end, Chief Academic Officer Maris Lown will invite all willing and able faculty and students to continue to participate in the teaching and learning process through an online system (ANGEL). Beth Ritter-Guth has adapted the system for use by any faculty or student who wishes to have access to this. Details will follow from Dr. Lown.
To keep abreast of the latest developments, check this Web site, Owl's Nest, Facebook or Twitter for updates. You should also receive broadcast text, email, or telephone calls.
President Margaret M. McMenamin
Please stay safe and in touch. I hope to see you all again very soon.
