Crime Stoppers offers anonymous cash rewards up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of criminal suspects. More than 1,000 indictable crimes have been solved since the program was created.
 
N.J.S.A. 2C:33-3 states that placing a bomb threat is an indictable offense (felony). It is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Additionally, a fine $2,000 or the cost incurred by responding agencies, which ever is greater, is also levied. Past experiences of the Bergen County Police Department and other agencies indicate the costs of responding to bomb threats in New Jersey has been anywhere from $66,240 to $196,000.
